Akala - Music workshop with young people from Breakthrough Music project

Akala is a MOBO award winning and celebrated international artist who has supported acts such as Damian Marley, Nas and Jay Z. He is hugely respected for his ability to articulate real social issues through music retaining his own style and beliefs. He will be holding a workshop for our Breakthrough musicians on Friday the 5th of May at Teesside University, giving them the opportunity to perform one track which they have produced through our weekly Breakthrough music sessions and giving them individual feedback. The young people performing have been selected after performing for our staff team but all of our Breakthrough members will also be able to take part in a Q&A session with Akala on his experience of the music industry.
