Sypmhonize

Event description

We would be delighted if you could join us on Friday 26 January 2018, 6pm-7pm at the Sue Townsend Theatre, 16 Upper Brown St, Leicester LE1 5TE  for the culmination of Symphonize, a pioneering creative partnership between the Philharmonia Orchestra and Soft Touch Arts.

Led by Jason Rowland, young people from The Lancaster Academy, Wistanley Community College and Highfields Centre will work with Philharmonia musicians and Soft Touch reggae, dub, hip-hop and spoken-word artists in a week-long intensive creative project to create original music through training in performance, music technology, recording, production and composition. A small group of participants will work alongside a VJ artist to produce a synchronic visual performance, learning how to manipulate visual content inspired by the work of the musicians and the themes for the project.

Symphonize aims to equip young people with new skills, increased confidence and social connection, broader horizons and motivation. You can find out more about more and watch a film about last season’s Symphonize on our website here

This is a free event, with no tickets required.

Please RSVP to Elisa Mare, Education Assistant at Elisa.mare@philharmonia.co.uk | 020 79213904.

We hope to see you there!

Yours sincerely,
