Music education in rural areas in jeopardy….BUT decent broadband is the answer

In a new report launched today, youth music development charity NYMAZ spells out how digital technology could revolutionise the way schools provide music tuition. But it warns that poor broadband in rural areas is limiting young people’s access to equal life opportunities.

Research project Connect Resound brings inclusive, effective music education to excluded and remote areas around the UK. 

Olwen Macleod, founder of Your Space Music Lessons, talks about the beginnings of her online music school and what's its like to teach remotely from an island.

Members of the NYMAZ Remote Music Learning Network have exclusive access to learning resources created by the Connect: Resound project. The latest webinar, An Introduction to Teaching Music Online, is now available for members to watch online.

Bringing people together in community music projects is a healing getout in a digital age and can involve a spectrum of online and offline groups.

This group provides a discussion space for anyone involved in developing and delivering music education and experiences for young people using online technology.
