Principal Youth Music Animateur

Job description

Music for Everyone (registered charity no. 1153412) is a dynamic, independent, community based, arts organisation with over thirty years' experience in devising and running innovative music participation events across Nottingham and the East Midlands. The role of Principal Youth Music Animateur is an important new role at Music for Everyone. www.music-for-everyone.org

We are looking for an experienced, creative and inspirational music educator, with a commitment to oversee, support and enhance Music for Everyone’s existing youth programme and the passion to lead a step-change in our outreach development and schools engagement work in the East Midlands. There may also be opportunities to work with some of our adult groups.

The successful candidate will be a music specialist with a proven professional track record of devising and running dynamic music projects for children of all ages, abilities and experience.  A particular interest in choral and string ensemble work would be an advantage.

Music for Everyone is pleased to consider applications on a salaried basis (2.5 day p/w) based at our Nottingham offices.  The post will include some evening and weekend work.

The Nottingham Music Hub, with whom Music for Everyone works closely, is also advertising a part time post for a Singing Development Teacher (http://www.nottinghammusichub.org.uk/job-vacancies).  Interviews for both posts will be held on Friday June 17 2016.  Should the same candidate be successful in being appointed to both posts then Music for Everyone and the Nottingham Music Hub would ensure that there would be a close collaboration between the two organisations to enable the posts to work successfully alongside each other.
