Project Coordinator (Young People & Music)

Job description

Jobs KWMC is currently looking to recruit a Project Coordinator (Young People and Music). 1. Project Coordinator (Young People and Music)

22.5 hours (3 days per week). Fixed term contract until 29th February 2020 Salary £19,604 – £23,527 per annum, pro rata, subject to experience

Join the Young People’s Programme team as our new Project Coordinator (Young People & Music).

Your new role will be focused on delivery of the Jump Studios music programme, working with participants ranging in age from 10 – 25 from across South Bristol.

Young people come to us with a variety of experiences, so you’ll need to be able to work with complete beginners, coordinating and delivering whole-class taster sessions in schools, as well as supporting more advanced creative music artists who may be interested in finding their sound and releasing music on various platforms.

If that’s not exciting enough, there’s more: each year you’ll get to coordinate a team of aspiring musicians on a residential retreat to further develop their musical talents. Your first cohort will all be young women (actively challenging the under-representation of women particularly in music tech and positions of leadership.)

There will be a few key festival performances and CPD events to coordinate throughout the year too. These will contribute to the development of the young people and those who support them.

You’ll get to be part of an excellent team of creatives who love co-designing projects, so you’ll be in great hands when you start. #dreamteam! You’ll also receive support with delivery from a range of specialist music tutors, volunteers and creative associates – a group that you’ll need to coordinate.

The Project Coordinator (Young People & Music) post will suit you if you are passionate about the development of young people, love music as well as wider media, arts and technology, believe that all young people have potential to be great at something – and you want to support them on that journey.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants from demographics currently under-represented across the creative industries including, Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, all women and people with disabilities.

If you have any questions about this post please get in touch with the Programme Manager (Young People) Mena Fombo or call 0117 903 0444.
