Music4U is delighted to announce that conductor Charles Hazlewood will be the keynote speaker at our next conference, 'Music for Life - The Impact of Music on the Wellbeing of Deaf Young People', on Friday, 27 February 2015, at the National Centre for Early Music in York.

Music4U is delighted to announce that conductor Charles Hazlewood (@charliehazlewoo) will be the keynote speaker at our next conference, 'Music for Life - The Impact of Music on the Wellbeing of Deaf Young People'. Charles founded the British Paraorchestra - the world's first ever orchestra for virtuoso musicians with disabilities which closed the London 2012 Paralympics. He will be joined by a series of experts who will talk about the challenges deaf young people face and how music can promote improved mental and emotional wellbeing.

Registration for this day-long conference, which takes place on Friday, 27 February 2015, is now open. For details and an overview of the programme, please visit our website: http://www.ncem.co.uk/hearing2015

The conference will be held at the National Centre for Early Music in York from 09:30 to 16:30. We are offering an early bird discount of £35 per person if you book before 12 January 2015. After 12 January, registration will be £40 per person.

This is the second national conference organised by Music4U focusing on the benefits of music provision for deaf children and young people. In addition to our speakers, the event will include showcase performances, led by Music and the Deaf, with deaf young people from York's new Singing and Signing Choir and the Sirius Academy in Hull and our marketplace of services and resources.

We hope you will join us for what we expect will be an inspirational and informative day.
