UVG's biggest concert to date

The Urban Vocal Group performed to a packed audience of over 200 people at their fourth annual concert at the Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth on Sunday 7th December.

44 young singers took to the stage with a live band to perform a variety of contemporary material arranged by Musical Director Amba Tremain. Many of these young people have not performed on stage before, most do not take part in signing activities at school and the majority have had no experience of vocal tuition. However a combination of the right environment, attractive repertoire, a commitment to developing individual voices and providing a professional experience at all times ensured that they had the confidence to take to the stage; secure in the knowledge that they have the support and encouragement of those around them.  The concert was filmed by a team of students from Highbury College in Portsmouth who were led by one of our UVG singers Macauly. The film is in the process of being edited both to be used as part of their coursework and to produce a DVD which will be available early in 2015.  In the meantime here is a short clip featuring our first number of the evening.
