A saxophone, a midi kit and Joleen

Last night the XLR students took the musicality up a notch, with 4 rooms full of creativity!

With the 10th XLR Session at Knowle West Media Centre came a moe driven group of young musicans than ever.

Splitting into various groups, the musicians made some major strides -  Justin aka GOD MC worked on a 16 bar verse for "Laugh Until You Cry" (working title), the song that the group had created with Eva Lazarus a few weeks before. The song is now structured and contains a lovely horn section created by Bim.

Jermaine (in the cover picture) accompanied by Courtney, started work on a Rock influenced track, and started recording in some MIDI drums, plus live guitar and and bass and began to manipulate the recordings live in Ableton.

Ella and Toni began work on 2 original sets of lyrics in the forms of sung and spoken word respectively.

Zoe worked alongside Sophie to create an amazing acoustic cover of an Adele song. They also played the XLR firm favourite Joleen! The duo are planning to create an EP of adapted songs over the coming months.

Over the next few weeks the group ill finish off the original piece they have been working on, and then begin to prepare for their next live performance in April.
