Sage Gateshead's Musica Inclusion Programme ran a joint training and sharing day with Music Partnership North (MPN) Hub on Monday February 10th 2014. Attended by 14 music leaders / teachers from Sage Gateshead and MPN, the day was a great success. Steve Jinski, Sage Gateshead's Head of Youth Participation gave an overview on Musical Inclusion work in the region, sharing our priorities and plans for the coming year including joint delivery opportunities, supporting emerging practitioners and music organisations, training opportunities and plans to improve network and partnership working. Steve Halsey, Director of MPN gave an update on the Hub's current postion regarding working in non formal music making environments and plans to strengthen the partnership with Sage Gateshead.  There was a facilitated conversation on working with young people from challenging circumstances and managing difficult behaviours. We looked at what works and what doesn't with attendees offering useful advice and tips to colleagues.

Sage Gateshead music leaders ran training on the use of CD decks and 'traditional' vinyl DJ set ups. MPN delivered a session on the use of ipad technology in the classroom. We then looked at 'next steps' and what working together might look like. Feed back from the session was very positive.....
