Akala - Music workshop with young people from Breakthrough Music project

MOBO award winning rapper Akala will be holding a workshop for Breakthrough Music Project on Friday the 5th of May at Teesside University.

Breakthrough music project members have been working very hard to produce tracks to perform for MOBO award winning artist Akala, who is visiting the project on Friday the 5th of May. We want to inspire our young musicians and support them to develop confidence and gain knowledge about the music industry and what better way to do this than giving them the opportunity to perform for an award winning musician who has international acclaim. "I am really excited to be performing for Akala and nervous!! This is a brilliant opportunity as I really want to step out of my comfort zone and get feedback off someone who has already received recognition in the music industry." - Breakthrough Member aged 13

Akala will also be holding a Q&A about the music industry for all members from 3-3:30pm before leading an educational talk on The History of Black People in Britain from 4-5:30pm also at Teesside University. If anyone would like to attend the music workshop please get in touch on 01642 956726 or email allinyouthproject@hotmail.co.uk. Places have nearly gone for the History of Black People in Britain - educational talk but if you would like to reserve a place please email allinyouthproject@hotmail.co.uk Places are reserved on a first come first served basis.
