Are you a Kiera of the future? Apply now for an AYM Award!

If you're looking to make a life in music but need help with the costs of your musical journey join singer songwriter Kiera Osment now and apply to our 2016 Awards. Whatever instrument you play AYM makes annual grants of up to £2,000.

Supported by Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) from a young age, through both our Furthering Talent and Awards Programme, 15 year old pianist Kiera Osment is now pursuing a career in the pop music industry.  As a singer songwriter she combines her technical skills as a classically trained pianist with her love of composing and singing. AYM has helped her with both cello and piano lessons over the last few years.

Her unique songwriting has been described by critics as “haunting”, “bewitching” and “utterly captivating”, as clearly demonstrated in the video for her song “Forsaken” recorded live at The Loft Barbers Lounge in Exeter.

And Kiera's recently had some exciting news - she's just won a record contract with Abbey Records! Kiera says:

It's so wonderful to meet a bunch of people that believe in me and my music and my non conformist attitude! I'll be working with Philip Tennant who has worked with the Waterboys, Levellers, The Cure, Pixi Lott and I know we'll work well together.  Eek! If all goes to plan 2016 is going to be extraordinary year.

If like Kiera you've got big musical plans but need help on the money side, then you'd be welcome to apply to AYM's Awards programme. Viist www.a-y-m.org.uk to apply online or call Hannah Turner on 0300 302 0023 to find out more. This year's deadline is Friday 18 March 2016.
