Band In A Week

Band In A week invites a group of 14-19 year-olds to become band members in a week, guiding them through four days of instrumental tuition and rehearsals under the supervision of experienced tutors, in preparation for a special live performance at the end of the week.

Are you aged 14-19 and from east London? Want something to do during the summer holidays for free?

The long summer break can get a bit boring of you don’t have anything to do and your friends have gone away! Don’t worry; we’ve got a solution!

This summer, from the 1st to the 5th of August, Community Music will be running the Band In A Week project at The Brady Arts Centre, 192-196 Hanbury Street, London E1 5HU.

Band In A week invites a group of 14-19 year-olds to become band members in a week, guiding them through four days of instrumental tuition and rehearsals under the supervision of experienced tutors, in preparation for a special live performance at the end of the week.

Young people joining the project can choose to learn guitar, bass, drums or get vocal tuition and no prior experience is required to take part. All musical styles are welcomed and creative expression is positively encouraged!

The participants on Band In A Week are also given the opportunity to get a short course accreditation from ASDAN whilst taking part.
