Corporate Sponsorship for Youth Funded Bedlington to Ashington Building Brass Project

The Bedlington Brass initiative has received a major boost with sponsorship from Bristol Street Motors Ford Morpeth.

The dealership, based on Coopies Lane, is supporting the Bedlington Youth Brass Band and the Community Brass Band.

The Bedlington Brass Initiative embraces all ages from 8 year olds playing in the Youth band to the Community band which has members across three generations. It works with 10 schools in the region with more than 300 students taking part in the whole project.

Bristol Street Motors is continuing its sponsorship of the Dunston Silver Band, also part of the Bedlington Brass Initiative, for a fifth year.

Bristol Street Motors has been supporting the band since 2009, helping fund running costs including rent and conductor’s fees. The support also allows the band to develop players with individual tuition and to upgrade the music library and instruments.

Dave Anderson, general manager at Bristol Street Motors Ford Morpeth, said: “It is important that local businesses take an active role in the community and the Bedlington Brass Initiative is a project that encompasses people of all ages.

“Music brings together the generations and we are proud to be supporting both the Youth band and the Community band.”
