Hush... don't tell anyone!!

Secret gigs in unusual places!

Music4U is working with Creative Voice (Hull City Council Youth Arts and Youth Development Service partnership) and Hull 2017 Learning & Participation Team to plan and run Hush - a series of programmed secret gigs in unusual and industrial sites across the city. They will link to the seasons; Made in Hull, Roots and Routes, Freedom and Tell the World. These events aim to engage a younger audience (14 - 19 year olds) as performers, participants and producers in an alternative music scene, done through supporting and promoting local acts to perform, developing a new audience and nurturing producing talent. Hush is co-curated by young Creative Apprentices, who are currently learning about event management, supported by the Hull City Council's events team, receiving guidance and advice.

Young people will be able to participate through progression from other Music4U programmes as well as via a marketing campaign with the support of the Hull 2017 team, using social media and promotional gigs in schools and youth centres to spread the word.  Young people are also able to get involved through the Creative Voice Network, an information and networking service for practitioners working with young people.
