Rap Preparations

As part of the Kámoši Juniors Performing Arts programme, the children prepared for a performance on International Roma Day 9th April 2016. Rapper Remi joined the children over several workshops to develop the children’s song-writing skills.

Workshops initially focused on basic lyric writing skills, and then moved on to supporting the children to create two lots of song-lyrics to rap. These sessions went down very well and the children enjoyed the creativity and skill-development involved in lyric-writing and rapping. Remi led one fantastic session in particular, where he used the lyrics to show the group how to perform confidently. This involved lots of games encouraging the children to adopt different identities and poses. These skills are crucial to Rappers when they perform, so this session was very important for the group in preparation for their important performance on International Roma Day.
