Vacancy: Freelance Trainee Deliverer

Brighter Sound is looking to identify three trainees to work alongside a team of artists across a range of Brighter Sound activity. This placement aims to support musicians committed to the development of their skills as a creative practitioner.

Our traineeships aim to support and develop musicians who are looking to develop their skills in one or more of the areas in which we work, and who are passionate about unlocking creativity and innovating creative approaches to making music.

The key skills required for this role are good communication, teamwork and enthusiasm, flexibility to work with different groups of differing abilities, across a variety of settings, and a passion for innovative creative music making. The role requires an average commitment of 0.5 days a week, with the following:

  • A passion and commitment for musical learning and development with a range of people including young people, emerging artists and people discovering music later in life.

  • A strong set of musical skills from across different styles and genres.

  • An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, from partner organisations to young people, and make contributions for the continued enhancement of any given project.

  • An ability to work clearly and communicate with Artist teams: a flexible and approachable response to creative music making, with a willingness to contribute and exchange skills and ideas as part of a team, and under own initiative.

  • A commitment to equal opportunities is essential.

You are asked to consider these key requirements of the role, and how you would respond to them, with examples from your past experience.

This placement is equal to 13 days / 26 sessions across six months from March to September 2017, and is supported with a fee of £1,170 per trainee. In addition, support and advice on career development, training opportunities and further enhancement of skills will be supported by Brighter Sound.
