Wired4Music X Sonos: Music industry advice drop in

On Thursday 29 September 2016, Wired4Music teamed up with Sonos Studios to host an extra special drop-in; an evening designed to enable 16-25 year olds from across London to come together to network, collaborate and seek guidance and support from professionals.

We were lucky to be joined by four experts working across the music industry: David LaubFirst & Last MusicNatasha Haddad, Festival RepublicEddie Shelter,The Barbican and MIRI, Musician; all of whom offered excellent advice sessions with attendees. It was the most popular drop-in session yet, with 25 people in attendance, and the networking session in the beautiful Sonos cafe space was hugely successful.

Brand new member, and first time attendee, Clara emailed the day after the event to say:

“Thank you so much for organising things like these. I’m somewhat of an outcast at my school due to the fact that it’s very traditional and no one has the same interests as me. I met people my age yesterday who were just like me and that was so cool.”

And musician and guest expert mentor Miri shared her experience of offering advice on her Instagram page: “Such a lovely way to spend my evening as one of the guest mentors@wired4musicldn After many years of living as a music artist it’s wonderful to be able to offer support and guidance to these young people who are just so awesome.”

With huge thanks to all of the guest mentors and to Sonos Studios for hosting us, and to all of the new and existing members who made it happen.

This month, Wired4Music partner with the Royal Albert Hall to deliver a masterclass in how to produce live music events, which sold out overnight and looks to be another great event!
