Culture Together Sounding Sense

Explore local traditional music in South Cumbria and Argyll and Bute as part of an extension to our Culture Together project dedicated to the collection, learning and sharing of traditional music that exists between these regions. Linking local research to the national archives to provide sustained folk music tuition. 

180 young people aged 8-16 have been selected from a total of 6 rural communities in Barrow in Furness in South Cumbria and Argyll & Bute who are best placed (geographically and within the existing music offer) to help us build on and increase participation, strengthen community identity, flourish and achieve with support from in our 48 existing folk academy students in Carlisle and South Lanarkshire via local music and creativity.
