MUSIC TECHNOLOGY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 2017/18

MUSIC ACTIVITIES SUPPORTED BY YOUTH MUSIC

There are many other inspiring young people also involved in the music activities that we have been able to coordinate with funding from Youth Music.

These young people have been able to work on their own projects building a profile while learning about live performance and Music Technology.  This project has helped young people to clarify their goals and plan their careers in music. It has given them the facilities and space to practice what they have learnt, all of which is recorded by the students themselves in a reflective diary. This record of achievements thus far has allowed them to identify future goals. Diary keeping has also provided a valuable focus for discussion including having supportive parents that have seen talent thrive.  They have expressed a huge pleasure in the progress their children have made, both as performers and as an inspiration to their peers.

We are pleased to say that since the project started, we have seen a significant increase in the number of young people wishing to take part. However, over-subscription unfortunately means we are unable to accommodate all those who would like to.

It has been hugely gratifying to witness such demonstrable improvements in instrumental ability, vocal technique and performance skills, in addition to seeing a marked boost in the confidence, sociability, and general well-being of the young people who choose to learn with us.
