'Making Tracks' is an exciting new Youth Music funded project - in partnership with Trinity Community Arts, Basement Studios and ACE Bristol - that from February 2018 will be providing life-changing music making experiences and enable young people from challenging circumstances to take the first steps in their music-making journey.

The Amber Music Project aims to create a music facility and programme at Ashley Court - a supported housing scheme for vulnerable young people in Devon. The project will give residents the opportunity to engage in the exploration and creation of music, as well as plenty of opportunities for self-expression and confidence building.

We are a mainstream primary school in the outskirts of Blackburn. Around 15% of our children have SEN/D, 9 of whom
have a funded EHCP.
We value arts education highly and believe in its benefits for all children. Children benefit from a thriving musical
programme within and outside the curriculum.

 

Groundswell Arts are delivering their project 'The Lullaby Project' in 20 settings including schools , children's centres. and private sector nurseries over the next two years. Working with paired music practitioners each setting works over a half term period on the project. Musicians work with parents to compose songs for their children and the project focuses on strengthening bonds between child and carer, setting and parent, and develop language confidence and self esteem in the children taking part. 

Alongside this across two years also in Haringey Groundswell Arts will run 10 weekend events called 'Family Jams' these events will focus on a wide range of family music making opportunities and provide a progression route from the Lullabies programme. 

 

Music Making Project for Children and Young People Age: 13 to 25

School Ground Sounds is a music youth charity based in Brixton. We collaborate with secondary schools and youth centres across London and work directly with young people in lower income areas to provide additional music opportunities and to enhance their music education.  
  Our programme includes recording studio experience, 1-1 mentoring with industry professionals, a 6 week industry crash course, songwriting competitions, live performance opportunities and the showcasing of talent online.   We are currently running our 2017 Songwriting Competition for young people aged 11 - 18. Last years competition was a great success and we are looking to extend our reach this year. The competition includes feedback from industry professionals amongst other benefits and closes on the 31st May 2017.  This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to have their music heard and a great chance to develop their studio techniques and performance confidence!   With one week until the competition closes, we are reaching out to ensure this opportunity reaches as many young people as possible.    

The Glee project, based on the popular TV series, gives children from Edmonton the opportunity to take part in Glee clubs where they are able to showcase and develop their singing and performance skills.  The fully inclusive clubs, run by inspirational tutors from Pineapple Performing Arts School (PPAS), focus on fun and raising aspirations.  There is also a competitive element where all Glee clubs are brought together at the end of the project to perform at a prestigious London theatre in a live show in front of a panel of judges.  Families of performers are invited to cheer them on and a range of prizes are awarded including PPAS scholarships, trophies and certificates.

Young DaDa Ensemble is the expansion of a successful pilot project to deliver accessible music-based activities to 70 young people in Liverpool over a period of two years. It will present progression routes for aspiring musicians, provide musical role models and help affect organisational change.

This is a two-tier project that develops a team of Assistant Music Leaders for a new music workforce whilst simultaneously delivering high quality music-making activity for young people to create immediate and lasting impacts for their social development and musical progression.

The project is delivered in 2 phases with time to pause and reflect in between so we may improve the delivery programme where appropriate/required. 

Each phase will support 4 musicians (young adults) to become Assistant Music Leaders through formal training, 1-2-1 mentoring and support, practical work experience and undertaking a nationally recognised qualification in Education & Training (level3).

70 young people facing a range of challenging circumstances will be recruited on to music residencies based in our music studio and education workshop, in Leicester city centre. Over 20hours of engagement young people will improve their technical musical skills and abilities, create an EP in collaboration with their peers, widen their networks and improve their social abilities, all whilst completing an Arts Award to recognise their achievements.
