Beat This C.I.C CPD Sessions in Peterborough: Noise & Toys - A Sonic Experiment

Have you have ever fancied learning about music technology? Circuit-bending? Controllerism? or Makey Makey? Do you want to find out how you can go Frankenstein on your old musical toys, transforming them into mind-bending alien sounding instruments?

Have you have ever fancied learning about music technology? Circuit-bending? Controllerism? or Makey Makey?

Do you want to find out how you can go Frankenstein on your old musical toys,  transforming them into mind-bending alien sounding instruments?

Have you ever wondered how you could control an orchestra with a Nintendo Wii remote?

What about using fruit and vegetables to control a grand piano?

Sounds a bit weird and whacky to you? but incredibly fun?

Well then you should get yourselves down to Chime Creation Centre on The Courtyard, Norfolk St. Peterborough for a full day of sonic exploration and audio experimentation.

Join us for NOISE & TOYS on Thursday 29th August from 10 – 4pm for an all-day hands-on open workshop, exploring this amazing technology.  We will also be showing short films about circuit-bending and controllerism.

OPEN TO ALL HUMANS – NO EXPERIENCE OR MUSICAL ABILITY REQUIRED | Supported by Phonic Music Development at the Garage and Youth Music.

Feel free to bring your own toys, keyboards, music tech or electronic components, but please be aware that we will be destroying our old toys and circuit-bending them in order to turn them into new and wonderful musical instruments that we can plug into amps and make lots of noise with!

We are asking for £2 as a donation towards Chime – Peterborough’s Community Music Centre open, and to keep things like this event happening again!
