AYM's 2013 Awards are open now: funding available for talented young musicians

Do you know a musically talented young person struggling to afford their musical costs? AYM’s Awards funding could help!

Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) believes that all talented young people deserve the chance to progress in their music making. We support young musicians aged 5 to 17 with exceptional potential in any genre, focusing on those from lower income backgrounds, and we’re awarding up to £100,000 in 2013 through our annual Awards programme.

Drumkit, harp, bagpipes, guitar, bassoon, accordion, violin, harmonium? Whatever instrument they play and wherever they live in the UK young people can apply for an award of between £200 and £2000. AYM can help with most major musical costs including tuition, instruments, courses and travel (all application are means-tested).

But hurry! The closing date for applications is Friday 15 March 2013.

And we don’t just help young people with tailor made funding – we also support them with mentoring and other musical/performance opportunities.  We combine this with professional development for music leaders and advocacy/research initiatives.
