Welcome to the latest Sound Connections e-newsletter. In this late summer edition we ask you to 'Save The Date' for our 10th birthday 'Would Like To Meet...' celebration, highlight some of our partnership projects and share information on how assistive music technology can be used in SEN settings, alongside the latest training and job opportunities.

"Would Like To Meet..." Save The Date! Make sure you've got Thursday 22 November in your diary - we're celebrating Sound Connections' 10th birthday with a special "Would Like to Meet..." event at Shoreditch House. Come and meet people from across the music education sector for wine, music, nibbles, networking and birthday cake. Keep your eyes peeled for the invite in our next e-newsletter. Kinetika Bloco's Greatest Team Parade Kinetika Bloco is one of our partner organisations, dedicated to working with young people through music, dance and costume. They will be leading the Greatest Team Parade with 100 of their young people on 10 September, honouring the British athletes who competed in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Advance Network launch Born out of a partnership between Kuumba Youth Music, Royal Academy of Music and Tomorrow’s Warriors, The Advance Network is committed to changing the classical and jazz musical landscape for black, Asian and minority ethnic musicians. They will host a three-part networking forum entitled ‘Access All Areas’, with the first event taking place on 12 September. Click here for more information

Music and Technology Convention The Garage in Norwich is hosting a convention exploring how Music Technology can expand the work of those working with young people. Taking place on 11 October, the day will include presentations from some groundbreaking projects, workshops and plenty of technology to explore. Find out more

Out and About Over the last fortnight we have met with ARK Schools, Rich Mix, Kinetica Bloco and Making Music, held an extremely informative social media session with Hassan Mirza, one of our Trustees, attended the Eastside Educational Trust's Adobe Youth Voice event and appointed Amy Schumacher as our new Wired4Music Coordinator (welcome Amy!)
