Dan [mentor] suggested to me that I create a soundcloud account – I have got my music out to people in France and the Virgin islands. Dan keeps giving me good feedback. It has worked really well.

I like to see artists come from unheard of to famous through local promotion to national – the snowball effect. My podcast is a first stepping stone, artists can use [things like that] to get out there and create that snowball – that is what I like.

It has helped me to speak more in front of a wider audience. I did a play in school really confidently. It has broadened my horizons with what music I like, given me better listening skills. I wasn’t feeling too confident about doing a play in school in front of a wider audience.

Maybe in the future I’d like to work at Galaxy or BBC radio. It has given me the skills I needed – being more open minded about all types of music. What I say would be more relevant to an audience than it would have been 4 months ago.

Music is really important to life, it shapes people to who they are and to who their friends are – this project is really helping me to believe that.
