23 weekly music-making sessions

23 weekly sessions between April and September 2011 (internal review after 4 weeks).

A core group of between 10 and 12 attended fairly regularly with 10 young people taking part in the final performance. Participants were aged between 16 and 21. The total number of young people who attended any session was 40. 16 young people attended for only one session.

Although twice the number of young men (22) attended at least one session compared to young women (14), the young women involved attended more regularly and each session had a roughly even mix of young men and women.

Final performance

A public performance took place at the Band on the Wall live music venue in Manchester on 13th September.

Friends and family of the participants were encouraged to attend the concert. The performance was filmed and a DVD was produced for all participants to take home.
