About

My name is Trevor Rose and I am the CEO at Nottingham's Community Recording Studio.

Set up in 1991, the Community Recording Studio teaches film and video skills as well as music, giving youngsters access to professional equipment and key industry contacts, including musicians like Estelle and Aloe Blacc. We are based in St Ann's. The charity has been running for over 20 years, and was founded by members of the local community who have first-hand experiences of the needs of young people growing up in the area.

We are excited to have recently been awarded funding from Youth Music to deliver 'Sound Machine' - a project that will deliver music workshops to children and young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to access music making opportunities due to emotional and behavioral difficulties and issues associated with extreme deprivation and social exclusion. Workshops will be specifically designed and delivered by highly skilled and experienced workers and musicians from a wide range of musical genres to ensure C&YP have the right support and opportunities to experience true musical inclusion and progress on individual journeys through a diverse range of musical genres.
