About

Words cannot describe the love and passion that l have for sound, so to be involved in the music industry is one of my biggest interest in life, understanding how sounds and vibrations travel, affect and influence people in different ways gives me great joy.

As an enthusiastic and energetic student in Redbridge College, l have played an active role in supporting and creating the Christmas gig, recording sessions, mixing down, live performances and music productions.  During my second year I was instrumental in the support of new arrivals in college in the music technology department, l assisted the new intakes with their basic knowledge and understanding passing on skills I had learned about the music software for instance, Logic Pro and hardware, in addition to operating studio equipment correctly, setting up recording sessions and finally shutting down all the equipment in the correct manner. I have gained a double distinction in my first year, it inspired me to encourage other students who had similar desire to achieve in music technology.

During the summer of 2015, I worked on a production with Jemek Powers also known as Jammer from a grime music group (Boy Better Know).

We worked at Red Bull Studios, producing a promotional single, including video imagery and a live concert with Red Bull.

It was a great success and a documentary was produced as a result of the massive success of the show, which was sold out.  Two years prior, I worked with both Chad Stennet and Jemek Powers, as an intern for their Company, Lord Of The Mic’s, my roles as an Intern was to, manage all of the social media including twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and the website.  Other responsibilities were taking minutes at meetings, assisting sound checks and setting up speakers, decks, instruments and microphones.  I attended events with the company such Red Bull culture clash 2014, Lord Of The Mic‘s 6, Dope Chef clothing line, photo shot and the FM Rinse Radio Station.

In 2011, I was 1st class Air Cadet, an extra curricular course run by the Royal Air Force to give young people from the age of 13- 21 life skills by the government. During my time at Air Cadets, punctuality, organization, discipline, and listening skills were essential which increased my ability to work within a team structure.

In 2011 I took part in The Challenge, which is a National Citizenship Service Programme.  This is a program for young people between the ages of 17 and 19, that bring together people from different backgrounds and builds trust, new experiences, confidences and networking opportunities for developing employment and life skills for you to succeed. I completed the Challenge and gained a National Citizenship Service Certificate.  During the challenge, l was nominated by my peers to become a group leader and l ran my team successfully during a challenge. The leadership entailed: preparing a pitch which l presented in front of 200 challenge graduates, there were 10 people pitching and l was one of the two people who succeeded and became a Youth Leader in the National Citizenship Service (NCS) and received a certificate for my achievement.  Some of the transferable skills that l used were, good communication, working within a team, developing others, showing leadership and discipline skills.

In 2012 l attended an intensive course at City Of Islington College, l studied a foundation course in Audio Engineering and I passed. Also I studied recording techniques, listening techniques, sound for moving images and sound for gaming.

All of these subjects gave me an insight to sound technology industry.

What can I say… music is my passion. I see myself succeeding in a degree in Sound Engineer, running a studio that records artist work and mixing down music tracks.
