About

James is a XLR Music Programme co-ordinator at KWMC. Also known as Vice, he is an emcee / producer. In 2010 he established the XLR festival at KWMC – an annual celebration of hip hop culture and music. James is a member of the youth projects team and is responsible for developing and running the weekly XLR Music Sessions as well as the Control + Alt + Delete coding and tech sessions, assiting young people to develop digital skills. In addition, James is responsible for the development and management of XLR’s musical and creative partnerships across the city and the redevelopment of KWMC’s recording studio and live space.

As a workshop leader, the creator of the Arts Council funded Basement Sessions, owner of the Street Soul Productions record label, and a regular supporter of local events, Vice is well established as a musician within the local and national hip hop community. Specialising in music workshops, he has facilitated workshops for Colston Hall (Bristol), Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Punch Records, The Symphony Hall (Birmingham), West Ham United FC, the BBC and many more.
