Care experienced young people making music in Manchester

Over the past few months, young people from across Greater Manchester have been working with each other to write, record and play music as part of GMYN's latest project - Boom Box, a 12-month music production project to reduce the social isolation and increase the confidence and self-esteem of care experienced young people across Greater Manchester.

Nick Rogers, Programme Coordinator of GMYN, says,

“The programme has only been going for a couple of months, and the young people have already started to write and record their own songs. Every session you can see the music helping people to be happier, calmer and more confident.”

GMYN creates opportunities so that disadvantaged young people from across Greater Manchester can take steps towards a positive future. Boom Box is delivered in partnership with Memody CIC, a company that offers children and young people the chance to write and record songs with professional tutors.
