Christmas Showcase

The ENCORE team are back in the office having been off over Christmas - to help with planning for the upcoming term I find it helpful to reflect back on last year and I wanted to share with you one of our highlights.

In the week before Christmas we hosted our second annual Christmas Showcase! The event was an opportunity for young people who have attended CHUMS to showcase their musical talent – we had solos, duets, bands formed on the night and our band who meet weekly to close the Showcase. It was a wonderful evening filled with lots of pizza and fun. The team were so encouraged to see young people stepping out in confidence to perform in front of their family and friends. We wanted to share with you an email we received from a mum who came with her family.

“I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for a great evening’s entertainment last night!  I know these kinds of events don’t just happen and there’s lots of organising, preparing and rehearsing involved - but it paid off!  Well done - it was a super night! And thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do with running Music in Mind!  For giving up your Thursday evenings, and making a difference to young people’s lives - thank you.  Our son’s passion is music, and to be included in such a great, talented band is amazing for him!”
