Mini music going from strength to strength

Through the Doorway to Healthy Living is excited to be able to expand and bring some mini-music delight to the Sundorne area of Shrewsbury, as well as continue the sessions in Castlefields.

Mini-music sessions are music and movement sessions for pre-school children aged 0-4 years and their parents or carers. The sessions are great fun and are full of music-making, singing and lots of activity which keep little ones active and entertained.

We have been running mini-music in Castlefields for over 10 years with great success, but now we are able to expand and also run sessions in Sundorne. The sessions are already very popular with numbers growing weekly.

Sessions run in term-time on Monday mornings at The Lantern, Meadow Farm Drive, Sundorne, Shrewsbury and Wednesday mornings in Castlefields Community Hall.

Each session is 30 minutes long and there is a choice of two timeslots. 9.30-10.00am or 10.15-10.45am.

We realise that many families don’t have a lot of spare cash at the moment so we keep our prices as low as we possibly can. Each session costs just £2.50 for people living in the SY1 postcode (£3 if they don’t) and are per family not per child.  Also, there is no need to pay for a whole term up front as we are happy for people to pay as they go. In this way, thanks to funding from Youth Music, we are able to make high quality music teaching accessible to those living on low incomes.
