Reality Boots invites music fans to look forward to a Brighter Day

This June music lovers are being invited to let their hair down and enjoy an evening of eclectic music as Newcastle based band Reality Boots’ takes to the stage at venues across the North East of England as part of their Brighter Day 2022 Tour.

Kicking off with a gig at The Customs House in South Shields on Friday 17 June at 7.30pm the tour will then head to The Exchange in North Shields on Saturday 18 June at 7.30pm, Middlesbrough Town Hall on Tuesday 21 June at 7.30pm, Brinkburn Street Brewery, Bar & Kitchen on Wednesday 22 June at 7.30pm before culminating in a final gig at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Friday 24 June 7.30pm.

Made up of passionate individual voices, each with unique experiences, Reality Boots’ set features powerful songs infused with various genres aimed at getting the feet tapping and the mind thinking.

As band leader Nicole Davis explains:

“We’re really excited about sharing our unique sound with audiences across the region as part of this special five-date tour. We’ve been collaborating with other Youth Music funded young musicians and artists from across the region to create a number of powerful new songs, each with an important message, that will be showcased as part of the tour.

“Members of Standing Upright in North Tyneside, Jack Drum Arts in County Durham and Band Jam at Musinc in Middlesbrough as well as musician, actor and rapper Kema Kay will each join us to support a gig on their home turf. We hope that young people from a range of backgrounds, many who have never experienced a gig before, will come together to enjoy this free live music event in their local community.”

Formed in 2013, Reality Boots is made up of talented members of Skimstone Arts’ Young Artist Collective. Working together they have created a back catalogue of powerful songs, raps and sound pieces inspired by strong themes. In 2022 Reality Boots will continue to harmonise individual voices striking fierce, gentle, powerful and haunting catchy chords of inclusion and inspiration to be enjoyed by everyone.

Peter Saaremets Lead Musician at Skimstone Arts added:

“Reality Boots is just one example of the many creative opportunities offered to young people at Skimstone Arts. Our weekly Young Artist Collective sessions provide the perfect opportunity for anyone aged 16 to 25 with an interest in music, sound and other art forms to create work with a diverse group of people in a supporting, nurturing environment. With free tuition available in singing, keyboard, drums, guitar and bass this is the perfect place for individuals to come and learn new skills and make friends. No previous experience is required.”
