Making music education inclusive: being inclusive rather than doing inclusion

Event description

Inclusiveness is the extent to which an organisation has people from diverse backgrounds or communities involved as board members and staff; and the extent to which its activities provide opportunities for all children and young people to take part on equal terms.

This event, hosted by the Music Education Council, explores the importance of inclusion at both structural and service levels and presents case studies of good practice in the fields of:

  • Embedding inclusion across a whole organisation
  • Making the workforce more diverse
  • Working in divese genres
  • Progression
  • Youth voice

There will be time for networking and discussion, and Youth Music's CEO Matt Griffiths will Chair the closing discussion.

Tickets cost £60 for MEC members and £120 for non-members.

We hope to see you there!
