MusicAtTheEdge

Over the last two years MusicAtTheEdge has delivered regular, free, youth led music workshops which have encouraged young people to explore the wide world of making music. We have always employed a youth led approach to all of our delivery and have made every effort to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere here in Brixham.  In the two years of delivery we regularly saw class sizes of up to a dozen young people and recorded over 100 unique participants All of our activity has been delivered in partnership with The Youth Enquiry Service charity and as a result many of the young people who accessed our drop-in sessions discovered our project as a result of their involvement with one of our pre-existing community based groups. As a result we have worked with vibrant group of young people with a diverse range of needs. MusicAtTheEdge has always championed inclusivity and we are immensely proud of the young people we have worked with for always looking for new ways to support and encourage their peers. The Youth Enquiry Service provided a venue for our regular live music events which created a platform for our young people to showcase their skills and perform the music they created. These events proved to be hugely popular and have become a highlight on the Charities calendar. The project also generated several music videos highlighting the achievements of our participants. We are hugely proud of both the quality of work produced by our young people as well as the impact these videos have had on the social media platforms they have been released on. These videos proved to be hugely popular with the young people and became both a wonderful document of their experience and a great incentive for them to engage with the process!
