SEN and Music Technology
This film shows young people using technology to access music. The project provided high quality specialist workshops enabling an inclusive and highly creative programme. Young people were able to take part in weekly workshops developing both their musical skills and increasing their self-confidence and motivation. They worked on a range of different instruments and performed locally to parents and friends and more widely at The Theatre Royal Stratford East as part of the Newham Festival of Youth Music performance showcase. The commitment of the team drawn locally from school support staff who knew the young people ensured participants and their families felt safe. Different tutors offered alternative approaches broadening and deepening young peoples experiences and aspirations to participate and develop further their musical skills.
