About

~~I have extensive experience managing many different types of projects in the music industry and education fields.  I have been a professional musician for 35 years.

I have run my music companies throughout that time managing, planning, and delivering a varied and large number of projects, including song writing and composition, training and facilitating, and have developed many skills along the way that I feel could benefit this commission.

I have experience in creating and delivering projects, including record releases, live events, music festivals, community performances and training events, and working with national, regional and local organisations from major corporations in the music industry, and arts sector, to local schools, small groups and individuals.  I am comfortable working as a team member, but I am also a very experienced and believe I motivate and inspire as a leader and facilitator.

I have experience in planning projects through research and practical workshops, to delivering on time, on budget, and according to a specific brief, using a variety of genres from traditional to contemporary.

I am confident in developing repertoire and practice, marketing and promotion, collecting evidence and feedback, understanding the music education sector as well as the music industry and working with partners of all types of organisations and areas.    I have extensive experience as a performer and writer, including working to a specific brief, and involving research and consultation with the public and group participants.

I am completely passionate about everything that I do.

I relish the planning and strategy as much as I do the delivery, and am always thrilled to share the success of an event with the participants I am facilitating.

I believe I am a good motivator and pace setter, managing to bring the best out of the team that I am working with, working to always lead by example and with energy and commitment, and delivering a professional result.

I enjoy working with people of any age, background or ability and believe that people find me approachable and concise.  I am a confident communicator and public speaker, teacher and trainer, and also consider myself to be a good listener, and feel able to grasp a concept or a mood accurately.

I have a particular personal interest in social history and local and cultural heritage, being a descendant of immigrants to the UK myself, and I chaired the local village hall group and School PTA for several years.

I have experience working with groups, of all ages, exploring and developing ideas and concepts, feelings and emotions, inspiring and guiding participants creativity, and expression, and integrating these ideas into music and songs, including recording both the process and the end results.

I have been so lucky to have been involved in some fantastic projects.  One of my proudest moments was gaining a nomination in the English Heritage Inspiration awards, for the Sing Up Vocal Force South Holland project in 2010 working with local residents and migrant workers.

I run Scarlet Music Services delivering industry and educational services in Music.  I am Director of Scarlet Records Ltd and HemHem Records Ltd, and secretary and Lead facilitator of Scarlet Community Music Club.  I perform and record under the name of AUBURN - working with musicians in Nashville, TN, USA  and Musicians in UK.  I also manage other professional artists including Eliza Carthy (MBE).  My websites:  www.auburn.org.uk   www.scarletmusicservices.co.uk   www.eliza-carthy.com
