Activities For The Future Day inspires care experienced young people

On Tuesday 23rd October Memody CIC and GMYN’s Boom Box programme teamed up with Bury Council and CICC (Children in Care Council) to deliver a song writing and recording workshop with young people in the Bury Parish Church. The session was part of the “Activities For The Future Day” for children in care.

The young participants created several song snippets about their favourite and worst foods, and even managed to squeeze in a few performances and learn some DJ skills toward the end of the session. It was a really fun and interactive workshop which encouraged the young people to use song writing as a powerful tool for expressing their feelings and emotions.

Memody CIC and GMYN will be running further sessions with Bury CICC in December supporting the participant to use their experiences of living in care to create a song. This song will support the participants to express their stories, and used to educate others.
