Exciting music research opportunity

Key Changes supports young adults with mental health challenges through specialist music mentoring programmes. In 2021, we were delighted to attract a NESTA Cultural Development Fund grant which will be used to further explore the cognitive, symptomatic and psychosocial outcomes of our activities for young people who have psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar.

With valued funding support from Youth Music since 2018, we have been able to launch and develop a range of programmesa and activities for young people facing these barriers to music engagement, with incredible positive impacts on relapse/hospital readmission rates; creative and music industry skills development; and social inclusion. We are so excited by this opportunity to work with an external research team to explore the power of music in the lives of these young people and cannot wait to share our findings with the sector. Please do pass on this opportunity to any academics in your network who may be interested in working with us to design and implement this study.
