Book Now for Music4U's Music for Life Conference!

Professor Barry Wright and other Experts to speak at Music4U's Music for Life Conference

Music4U will be announcing its full programme for the conference, Music for Life - The Impact of Music on the Wellbeing of Deaf Young People Conference soon. In addition to our keynote speaker, conductor Charles Hazlewood (founder of the Paraorchestra), Professor Barry Wright will give an overview of the causes of deafness, the current situation in the UK in terms of diagnosis and then talk about the emotional and social needs of deaf children and the challenges they face in a hearing world. Barry is the Clinical Lead of the National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

Dr Chris Barlow from Southampton Solent University will also be answering the question: how loud is too loud? Chris will discuss the risks and opportunities of using mobile devices for children and young adults listening to music, and looking at some current projects to make positive use of the features of mobile devices to improve information and education on hearing loss and improve the listening experience for young people with hearing loss.
