OUR BIG GIG IS BACK!
Since 2013, over 380,000 people have attended 520 Our Big Gig events which have seen a wide variety of musical activities take place in a range of unusual spaces and this year we are offering FREE CROWD FUNDING Information and Advice too!
OBG is back for 2015!
From schools to skate parks, beaches to boats, some 8,000 volunteers have organised events for their community across the country.
The major change for 2015 is that all events requiring funding will be supported to crowd-fund for their events on Spacehive.com, with match- funding available from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
The programme of over 100 national events will be held between 10- 12 July 2014, with each event lasting a minimum of four hours, offering a wide range of free performances and music workshops for the public to get involved. This high-profile, annual celebration is part of the legacy of the Cultural Olympiad, with over 150,000 people taking part last year. The programme offers Music Organisations, MEH’s and their delivery partners the opportunity to offer music workshops, bring ensembles along to perform, or signpost young people to come along and take part.
Spacehive & Our Big Gig
This year we are offering FREE CROWD FUNDING Iinformation Advice and so to receive £100 towards your Our Big Gig event this year:
Your project needs to be live and fundraising for your gig on Spacehive by the 26th April
You'll need to have your fundraising target set to between £500 and £4,000
Have a gig that is taking place between 10th - 12th July (some exceptions to the date are possible, please contact your Regional Manager)
Have a gig that is free and open for anyone to attend
(Funding is currently only available to support events in England, however those outside of England can still take part and run a campaign through Spacehive, Superact just can't pledge any money).
How to Create YOUR OWN Space Hive Crowd Funding Campaign
Superact are offering a series of free information and training events throughout April ( see below for details).
This is a chance to get support from your Regional Manager and learn more about crowdfunding and event management.
