A little intro:

I thought it would be good for me to introduce myself. My name is Jess and I’m part of the New Ambition Team at Bristol Plays Music assisting in administrative, logistical matters and generally making sure everything is ticking over nicely.

As part of our evaluation for youth Music we have asked everyone in our team to write a blog about the particular part they play in New Ambition, the exciting parts and the difficulties. It's great the whole team are all involved in this and I've really enjoyed reading the blogs as it’s incredibly useful for me to understand more about how others are finding their projects.

I cannot always attend the projects themselves, as my role of Education Programme Assistant for Bristol Plays Music requires me to mainly be based at Colston Hall as a main point of contact. We can email/speak on the phone but blog writing appears more in depth and personal…a more spoken way of writing instead of formal. Communication is so important and I found this to be a fantastic way of doing just that.

I am dyslexic and find it extremely hard to write, this has taken me one week to summon up the courage to do, but I wanted to give it a go!

This is my barrier to effectively commincating..but I have tried it now and will persevere and write more often about more aspects of my role within this fab project! So hang on in there!

In the meantime please all keep writing your blogs as we all enjoy reading them and it is so valuable!

Thanks for reading...

Jess
