Making Music with iPads in Schools

Date: 13th November, 5pm - 8pm

Venue: Surrey Arts, 14 The Pines, Broad Street, Guildford, Surrey. GU3 3BH

Explore a range of apps that are designed to be accessible and intuitive to use and learn how to record any instrument through a microphone. Get the low down on GarageBand with it’s large choice of built in loops and other features to produce professional sounding music which can then be emailed or sent by bluetooth for the student to keep. Please bring your iPad if you have one, if not one will be provided.

Inclusive Music Tech in Schools

Dates: 2nd December, 5pm - 8pm

Venue: Surrey Arts, 14 The Pines, Broad Street, Guildford, Surrey. GU3 3BH

Overcoming barriers to participation using music hardware and software packages in school settings. Use iPads, trigger pads, body mapping, wave drums to learn how technology can unlock creativity in young people with physical and learning disabilities. Suitable for both the novice and for the condent tech users. Refreshments provided!

Music and Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Date: 22nd January, 5pm - 8pm

Venue: 14 The Pines, Broad Street, Guildford, Surrey. GU3 3BH

Understanding ASD and developing strategies for successful musical engagement. Also learn about apps and activities that may be particularly successful. Suitable for those working in SEND settings/or with young people with ASD.

Understanding SEND

Dates: 10th March, 5pm - 8pm

Venue: Surrey Arts, 14 The Pines, Broad Street, Guildford, Surrey. GU3 3BH

Introduction to disabilities with particular reference to music workshops. Understanding the nature of disabilities such PMLD/ASD/Global Delay etc. Learn more child protection and safeguarding issues and how music can be transforming for these groups. Suitable for new or experienced music leaders and peripatetic teachers.
