Pedestrian Kennedy House Youth Music Project

This project involves working with 18-25 year olds based at Kennedy House in Leicester and is based in my music studio, also in Leicester.

This project involves working with 18-25 year olds based at Kennedy House in Leicester and is based in my music studio, also in Leicester.

The first session was really successful especially considering that it was the first time meeting the two YP, after our initial conversations based around music, their favourtie artists and what they wanted to achieve from the sessions we managed to get some recording time in. 

The first YP recorded a chorus with the aim of writing the verses for the next session. This enabled us to explore further the meaning of the lyrics he had written and why he felt this way and enabled us to look at common recording practises that he can take with thim to future sessions in other studios.

The second YP recorded a full cover song, which, was chosen so that she could get comfortable with the studio and singing in front of new people. This was really successful and, again, allowed us to look at common effects used on vocals etc, which, is knowledge she can then use in the future to pass on or for her own music.

The YP were very enthusiastic and responsive and both were excited about the next session and progressing further.
