Music from the Wild - The Last Week

It is our final week to prepare for our EP Launches gig on the 26th November. All the micro-grant holders have been prioritising the promotional aspect of the industry and finding out what they need to do to pull in a crowd. They have created short promotional videos and shared on socials which you can view on our webpage here. A big challenge has been how to convert 'likes' and online interaction into actual physical sales. One thing that has been noted is that word of mouth and 1:1 conversation is still a vital part of event promotion.

Last week we talked to The Cumbria Arts and Culture Network via their online monthly news updates which you can view here. Asha gave an excellent account of the project so far, especially how they have been collaborating with each other and helping to produce each others' albums. It was also noted that most of the industry mentors on the project were people who have grown up in Cumbria so have lived experience of the specific challenges our grant holders faced in trying to access networks.
