Grand Union Youth Orchestra Summer school 1st - 4 August 2016

Grand Union residential summer takes place at the Excellent Oundle School, Peterborough.  Come to summer school 2016 - Learn how to play world music that blends calypso and ska, salsa and samba, infectious West african drum rhythms and Latin percussion with bhangra and Indian rags, South African township music and jazz improvisation - and develop your own creative voice!  

GUYO summer schoolLed by top Grand Union musicians from a range of major musical traditions from around the world as well as tutors from Essex and Cambridgeshire music services, the summer school is a unique and exciting opportunity to

  • Meet and work alongside experienced professional musicians
  • Learn about world music styles and techniques first hand from experts
  • Discover new instruments and develop improvisation skills
  • Meet and create with like-minded young musicians and make new friends in a fun learning environment with excellent resources
  • Take part in a final concert featuring music created in the workshops
