Monday night session 1/2/16 - Arts Award project

Blog about our Monday session for our Arts award project.

The previous session on the 1st of Feb went really well. The young people enjoyed learning about the percussion instruments and learning to count beats by using the syllables of their names. As, we went around the circle everyone took part with some assistance from the leaders of the group. After, we had learnt the basics we then performed a group beat as everyone took part using the syllables of their names to keep with the beat that one of the group leaders had started.  

The 2nd part of the session involved the young people taking part in a karaoke event. It was good to see some of the young people getting up on the stage and taking full part in the event. It took some confidence for them to to get up on stage and then to sing in front of their peers who were watching  them performing within the room.
