From Street to Salsa- Wavelength Arts CIC

Our project  ' From Street to Salsa'  gave young musicians the chance to gain knowledge of new musical genres ( hip hop , rap , rock , samba & african percussion , beatboxing etc.)and real experience of collaborative composition , recording and live performance.

We have just completed a great project which featured a really diverse range of musical styles including  hip hop, rock , samba and bhangra drumming styles. We mixed in these different genres in a melting pot of exciting new compositions, recordings and performances. It's fair to say that everyone involved learned something new and a great result of the project has been a couple of new bands forming which are now very active on the local music scene. The young musicians gained many hours' real experience in a working recording studio environment , which resulted in some fantastic new tunes being written and recorded. We are grateful to Youth Music for enabling us to deliver suh a unique and exciting  project.
