Hello from the National Youth Orchestra!

Congratulations to Youth Music on the launch of the Network and welcome to everyone coming aboard!

We're one of the NYMOs (National Youth Music Organisations) and we love meeting other young musicians and other organisations that help young people at all levels take fantastic leaps forward with music. Members of the National Youth Orchestra are uber-keen to share their passion and expertise with young counterparts embarking on their own adventures in music, so come and say hello to them on our official Facebook group or read our blog, which our teenage members curate themselves, giving you a genuine impression of what it's like to play for the national team.

We want more young people to discover just how awesome and uplifting orchestral music can be so at the concerts we stage nationwide, we offer every seat for only £5 to under 25s. You can read about upcoming performances on our website. Even if you've never stepped foot in a concert hall before, we reckon you'll be impressed at the way the NYO makes classsical music cool and unleashes fresh energy and excitement in great repertoire. At our concerts this January, you'll even hear a bit of Beyonce among the great classical titans on our programme, as well as the world premiere of an extraordinarily funky piece unlike anything you've ever seen an orchestra perform before, commissioned especially for the Cultural Olympiad.

Everywhere we go around the country, we're keen to inspire other young musicians so we arrange Inspire Days (an inspired title, right?) where you can come and play alongside our members and various other activities that enable you to be part of the NYO experience too.
