CAN Band Night

As part of a small offshoot of Northamptonshire's Musical Inclusion programme, we've been helping local charity CAN and their young people organise some local music events, the first of which was back in April earlier this year.

CAN's team in Northampton provides support and advice to young people aged between 5 and 18 who use drugs and/or alcohol and also young people affected by someone else's use.

We're working with CAN to help young people's music-making through supporting their popular band nights which showcases the musical talents of young people accessing CAN's services.

Whilst these events are largely organised by the young people themselves, we've brought in local freelance musicians Dick Berrie and Marc Dezulu, with their many year's experience of the music and recording industries, to lend their technical expertise on the night as well as provide one-to-one mentoring in recording techniques and PA systems to some of the young people involved in running things on the ground.
