Songbirds Music UK- transforming healthcare for children and young people with complex needs through music - Newsletter Launch
We are Songbirds Music UK, a music organisation based in Salford who specialise in working with children and young people with complex communication needs and disabilities in healthcare and community settings. Our organisation was formed in 2019 but we have worked with children and young people with complex needs for 20 years, and at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, for the last 10 years. We use live music to support communication, creativity and self expression in children and young people with complex medical needs and disabilities. We also deliver training programmes with Manchester Medical School. University of Chester and the RNCM linking with medical and nursing students and music students, and our programmes have received awards and recognition across the UK.
